TradeMark Africa’s (TMA’s) research and learning (RL) Unit is mandated to support research, learning and expertise sharing within TMA and externally as part of the implementation of its second strategic plan (2017-2023).
The implementation of Phase 2 seeks methods to pro-actively generate and contribute to the body of knowledge on aid-for-trade in eastern Africa through value addition, extra visibility and expansion. External partnerships alongside applied research bolster TMA’s ability to produce impact narratives that support adaptive programming in implementing trade interventions.
The unit pioneers policy-relevant flagship studies on trade, the development of regular knowledge pieces, and the quality assurance of research studies. In addition, we are mandated to institute robust data collection and management practices essential for making TMA a data hub for trade facilitation in Africa.
